Readings: Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. July 15, 2012

FIRST READING
READING AMOS 7, 12-15

In those days said Amaziah, priest of the House-of-God, to Amos
– Seer, go and take refuge in the land of Judah, eat your bread there and prophesy there. Do not ever prophesy ‘House-of-God’, because it is the royal shrine, the temple of the country.
Amos said:
– I am not a prophet nor a prophet’s son, but shepherd and a dresser of sycamores. The Lord took me out of the flock together and said, “Go, prophesy to my people of Israel.”

Word of God
We praise you Lord

Responsorial Psalm
PSALM 84
R. – Lord, show us YOUR MERCY AND GIVE YOUR SALVATION

I will hear what the Lord says:
“God proclaims peace to his people and his friends.”
Salvation is as close to their true
and glory dwell in our land
. R

Mercy and truth shall meet,
justice and peace embrace;
fidelity out of the earth
and justice look down from heaven
. R

The Lord will give you the rain,
and our land will yield its fruit.
Justice march before him,
salvation to follow suit
. R

SECOND READING
READING OF THE LETTER OF PAUL TO THE EPHESIANS 1, 3-14

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He chose us in the Person of Christ – before creating the world – that we should be holy and blameless before him in love. He destined us in the Person of Christ – his sheer initiative – to be his children, so that the glory of his grace, who generously granted us in his beloved son, result in his praise. In him and through his blood, we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. The riches of his grace, wisdom and prudence was a splurge for us, known to us the mystery of his will. This is the plan he had projected performed by Christ, when he reached the climax, in Christ recapitulate all things in heaven and earth.
Through them we also have inherited. To this were bound by the decision of who does everything according to his will. And so, we who first hoped in Christ, we praise of his glory. And you – you have heard the Truth, the extraordinary news that you have been saved and have believed – have been marked by Christ with the promised Holy Spirit, which is the pledge of our inheritance to release their property to praise of his glory.

Word of God
We praise you Lord

HALLELUJAH Ef, 1, 17-18

The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our heart, we know what is the hope to which we are called.

GOSPEL
READING THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MARK 6, 7 to 13

At that time Jesus called the Twelve and was sending out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. Charged them to take a stick and the way around, but no bread, nor bag, nor loose money in their belts, which would lead sandals, but no, spare tunic. He added:
– Stay in the house you enter, until you depart from that place. And if a place will not welcome you or listen, to go away shake the dust of the feet, to prove his guilt.
They came to preach conversion, threw many demons, anointed with oil many that were sick and healed.

Word of the Lord
Glory to you, Lord Jesus
